Grace Kids
Last week, we taught about Joshua becoming the new leader of God’s people. God gave Joshua the courage to lead the Israelites across the Jordan River and into the land of Canaan. God stopped the waters of the river, making a way for them to pass through the Jordan River on dry ground. The Israelites set up 12 stones, one for each tribe, as a way for future generations to know the miracle God had performed.
This Sunday, we will study Joshua 2-4 and 6 and see how the faith of many people was displayed. Joshua and the Israelites trusted God to defeat Jericho. The two spies also displayed faith by believing God would give them the land. Rahab showed faith by hiding the spies. The Israelites revealed their faith in God by obeying his commands to march around the city. None of the people did anything on their own power to have victory or be saved. The same is true for us. Only faith in Jesus can save us from our sins.
Please pray for God to help the children open their minds to understand his word, open their eyes to see the truth, open their ears to hear the good news, and open their hearts to trust in him.
