Year End
A Message from Pastor David
Dear Grace Baptist Partner,
A couple of weeks ago, as I was walking around visiting with the families who joined us for Fall Festival, I couldn't help smiling. What a wonderful place Grace Baptist is, and how privileged we all are to belong to a church family that openly praises our Savior Jesus Christ, sets our hope on the unchanging truth of God's Word, and joyfully opens our hearts and homes to those around us. I can't think of a time when I was more thankful for the way our gracious God has poured out his favor on our church family.
With October in the rear-view mirror, we're now fully launched into my favorite season of the year. We can look forward to Grace Theater's production of A Christmas Carol, followed closely by Thanksgiving, my all-time favorite day of the year. Having my family all in the same place is a foretaste of heaven in so many ways! And then, Christmas comes rushing in as we enjoy our Advent preaching series, the always amazing and exciting Christmas Concerts with this year's theme "The King Has Come", and all the sights, sounds, songs, and special Christmas celebrations large and small. Yes, we do belong to an amazing family of Christ-followers in a church where people care and truth matters.
As we enter this exciting time of year, I do hope you will take some special time to pray for the ministry of Christ through Grace Baptist Church to those in our valley. Pray that our love for Christ will excite our love for those around us who need what we have in our Lord Jesus.
Pray as well that each of us, every individual and family, will find 2024 to be a year of shining the light of hope and truth in a world that is increasingly dark and hopeless. More than ever, the Santa Clarita Valley needs the joy, love, and hope we carry in our hearts as we deny ourselves, take up our crosses, and follow J esus ... closely!
Also, as I do every year, I am asking you to help us end 2023 well financially. We always count on increased giving during November and December, and are hoping our Grace Baptist family will join together to keep us financially strong.
Looking back, we can remember the confusing days of Covid, saying goodbye to so many friends who have moved out of state, and the names of those whom God has graciously taken home to be with him. But we also know we are here, where God the Spirit is living and working in us, to live for Christ with smiles on our faces. Let's work together to make 2024 our best Grace Baptist year yet!
May the blessings of Thanksgiving and Christmas be yours in fullest measure!
