Sunday, March 12

Welcome to our Order of Service page! Each week, a team of pastors and staff get together to collaborate on the liturgy, or order of service, for Sunday. Every element is prayerfully and carefully crafted so that the Gospel, God’s redemptive story to save a people for Himself in and through His Son Jesus Christ, would be clear and compelling. We hope you’ll enjoy following along with us as we present and rehearse the Gospel again this morning.

What is “Adoration”?

Adoration is the privileged action of Grace Baptist Church to come before God recognizing His majesty, power, and beauty. Through acts of prayers and praises, we remind ourselves of His position over His creation and in our lives.

Recognizing God’s rightful place reminds us of ours in creation, as citizens under His gracious, sovereign rule. God’s people have always been invited, even commanded, into the praises of His name.

Psalm 64:8 directs us, “Sing to God, sing praises to His name; lift up a song to Him . . . His name is the Lord; exult before Him.” Psalm 148:13, “Let them praise the name of the Lord, for His name alone is exalted; His majesty is above the earth and heaven.”

We adore God by making much of His greatness; and we can do so in loud singing and celebration, or in the hushed silence of awe and wonder.

As a component of our order of service, or “liturgy,” it is naturally our response to the reading of Scripture where God is shown to be glorious in His person and work.
