Welcome to our Order of Service page! Each week, a team of pastors and staff get together to collaborate on the liturgy, or order of service, for Sunday. Every element is prayerfully and carefully crafted so that the Gospel, God’s redemptive story to save a people for Himself in and through His Son Jesus Christ, would be clear and compelling. What is a Family Dedication?
Twice a year, we take time in our services to observe what we call Family Dedications. They provide an opportunity for families to come together, stand before the congregation, and dedicate themselves to the godly upbringing of their children while also receiving support from our church family.
During this time, a pastor will ask the parents to commit to modeling a godly lifestyle, teaching their children about Jesus and the Gospel, and providing a loving and supportive home environment. Following that, the pastor will ask a series of questions to the congregation regarding their role in coming alongside each of the families with encouragement, accountability, and discipleship.
It is worth noting that family dedications are not an ordinance in the same way that Baptism or The Lord's Supper is. Moreover, they are neither mentioned nor commanded in scripture. However, we find it a helpful visual reminder and testimony that God is growing his church, that children are wonderful gifts from the Lord, and that the sacred task of disciple-making is a shared burden between the family unit and the spiritual family - the church.
