Grace Kids
Before Jesus went back to heaven, he gave his disciples a mission: share the gospel with the whole world. He promised that the Holy Spirit would give them the power to complete this mission. The disciples prayed together and waited for the Holy Spirit to come. Then they replaced Judas with Matthias. Finally, the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples as Jesus promised. He filled them with power, and they began to speak in many languages. The Holy Spirit would help them be Jesus’ witnesses throughout the earth. This Sunday, through a study of Galatians 5, the kids will be taught that anyone who trusts in Jesus and receives the Holy Spirit is changed to live for him and be his witnesses.
The Holy Spirit helps us in many ways, and one way he helps believers is by transforming us to become more like Jesus. The Holy Spirit shows us our sin and helps us turn away from it. There are also outward signs of the Holy Spirit’s work in a believer’s life. When the Holy Spirit works in our lives, we desire to love others. We are sinful by nature, so this good fruit only comes through the Holy Spirit working in our lives.
If you take time to discuss the lesson with your children, consider sharing how the Holy Spirit’s guidance has shaped your own spiritual journey. Then, pray with your child and ask the Lord to continue helping your family grow in fruitfulness as you yield to the power of the Spirit in your lives.
Mark your calendars:
Summer Adventure will be June 24-28, 2024
Volunteer registration will begin April 1, 2024
