I am the vine, you are
the branches;
he who abides in me, and I in Him,
he bears much fruit; for apart from Me
you can do nothing. John 15:5 |
The focus of our ministry is to be more intentional about
our “being” women who understand what it is to
abide in Christ. The fruit born of this inner change will
bring honor to His name, help us to serve others out of a
heart of gratitude, relate to an unbelieving world and cause
us to exhibit a life of peace and joy.
Hudson Taylor has said:
“What I thought of as abiding was feeding, which is
a conscious and voluntary act. Abiding is not a thing of
consciousness but of fact (a state of being). We don’t
cease to abide in our homes while we are sleeping.
Therefore, our hope would be that the variety of ministries
we offer would be primarily concerned with encouraging responsive
hearts of women that they might experience spiritual vitality
and fruitfulness. Also, our great desire would be that as
the Vine-dresser prunes each of us in our roles as women
that our love would then attract unbelievers and guide us
in discipling the believing women to “abide in” the
relationship that faith has established.

This begins with a ten-week interactive seminar that will
train you to Grow Strong in God’s Family. It is based
on the Building Blocks of Assurance:
Salvation * Answered Prayer * Victory *Forgiveness *Guidance
We are complete in Christ and can live:
Victoriously, Not anxious, Joyfully, Not worried, Peacefully
An exciting in-depth program based on: “As you therefore
have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having
been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established
in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing
with gratitude.” Col 2:6-7
Groups with 5-8 ladies and a facilitator meet weekly.
This begins with Book I, (Growing Strong in God’s
Family). It is designed to help us become rooted, built
up and strengthened in the faith.
You commit to one book and then EVALUATE THE NEXT. There
are three books in this series. Your initial commitment
is for ten weeks only.
This process is POWERFUL and strongly impacts each participant.
It has HIGH accountability. Our goals become “things
which matter for the Kingdom” as we live busy lives
in the 21st century. We desire godliness. We learn to focus,
spend up to 90 minutes each week in preparation for our
study, memorize scripture and develop a consistent quiet
time and prayer life. Being about our Father’s business
with effective tools results in a deeper relationship with
God and ministry that matters.
No pre-requisite
This course is available to those completing
the Year One Discipleship Series. It is also a three book
course with 11-week commitments each, one book at a time.
Again, small groups meet weekly continuing in evangelism,
training in leading Bible studies, learning how to be Christ’s
disciple, and relying on God’s resources. Scripture
memorization continues to be an important element of this
process. You will learn how to spend a half-day in prayer
as you learn to commune more deeply with our God. Pre-requisite:
Year One Discipleship Series
Day and evening groups are available. All groups start
in September 2007
Registration is required.
A Mandatory Orientation Meeting is August 22 at 6:45PM
in Room D221.

Women
for Missions has the two fold purpose of helping our women
become better acquainted with our Missionary families as
well finding ways to minister to them throughout the year.
Recently we were able to send Valentine's Day love gifts
to each of our missionaries through the gracious offerings
of the Women of Grace Bible Fellowships, Tuesday Morning
Precept Class and the Missions Interest Group. Our missionaries
were thanked for their faithful service with a custom-made
card, and were sent funds for a special night out.
From time to time, Women for Missions sponsors get-acquainted
times with our missionary sisters. Bonnie Saucy shared
during February with the Tuesday and Wednesday Women
of Grace Bible Fellowships to make them aware of her
life and ministry in Kiev Ukraine. Bonnie, Mark, Ben
and Joshua will be returning to the Ukraine in early
March. It has been a pleasure to have them involved at
GBC during their time in the United States.
Special times with our missionary sisters will be published
in the Grace Weekly and announced at various Women's
Ministry events.
Upcoming: At our Missions Interest Group, Bonnie Saucy
will be with Mark as he shares about "Missions in
the Former Soviet Union" at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday,
February 22, in Modular F. Come, get acquainted, and
enjoy a light lunch with others interested in GBC Missions.
At our Women's Retreat in March, enjoy time with Shari
Ogg who serves with her family in Papua, New Guinea.
She will be with us the entire weekend. You will find
her a delightful person to get to know so you can pray
more knowledgeably for the Oggs as they serve. They return
to New Guinea in May so now is the time to get to enjoy
time with Shari.
Watch for future announcement and broaden your life by
getting to know the fine missionaries that Grace Baptist
supports all over the world.

Precept Upon Precept Bible Study An Inductive Bible
Study
Why use the Inductive Study Method?
The concept behind the Inductive Study Method is to get you
personally & intimately involved with the subject. We
use a straightforward investigative approach to open the
Bible and build the context for each statement it contains.
That’s where we find God’s truthful precepts-or
principles-for life. Inductive study is the tool used to
collect those precepts to build a God-glorying, Bible-centered
worldview with clear applications to live the abundant,
victorious life in Christ.
The method is essentially three steps.
Each lesson is designed to incorporate observation of
the Bible text and exercises to assist in understanding
the meaning of the Bible as well as make personal
application of truths taught in that lesson.
We complete workbook assignments and attend weekly discussion
classes on Tuesday mornings at 9:15 to 11:30 in Room D220.
Childcare
is available for a small fee, upon registration.
Registration will be available before the start
of each semester. Visitors are always
welcome.
If you have any questions, please email Judy Scurlock at okscurly@aol.com |
Revelation
We will conclude our four part study this year.
You are welcome to join us whether or not you took Parts
1 & 2.
This book offers a blessing to those who read it, who hear
it, who heed the things which are written in it. It
will give you the same hope and encouragement that the early
believers received as its message was read in the churches,
the hope that brings an expectancy of the Lord’s return
that pulls us all above the pull of the world.
