Sam & Tracey Schwartz
Porto, Portugal

Ministry Overview:
Sam and Tracey have a multi-faceted ministry as church planters in the greater Porto area.  This includes equipping the people of both Portuguese speaking and English speaking churches that they co-lead.  They also seek to communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ through their everyday relationships and circumstances.

Where they live:
Sam and Tracey live near the heart of one of the business and university districts of Porto, Portugal. The greater Porto area has a population of about 1.5 million and is Portugal’s 2nd largest metropolitan area. The city sits on the northern coast of Europe’s most southwestern country and boasts large tourism, fishing, and textile industries along with the world-famous Port wine trade. The climate of Porto is classified as a "maritime"; this means that it receives a good amount of rain in the winter, and warm and drier summers. It has hundreds of miles of coastline, not too many mountains, but lots of hills. The Portuguese people are family oriented, love to eat good food, and adore soccer. They are also very proud of their country and rich maritime exploration history. Ninety-seven percent of the population considers itself Roman Catholic, although religious indifference and post-modernism dominate the youth culture.

Prayer Requests:
Please pray that Sam & Tracey will live intensely for Jesus Christ everyday, and that their love of God will influence others to follow Jesus with their entire lives.  Pray that God will strengthen their church communities and that leaders will emerge and be strengthened to do the work of ministry.
Honor God, Love People, Share Christ
